COVID Vaccine Availability Update
Hello everyone!
I want to provide an update on the opportunities for everyone to have access to the COVID vaccine. Attached is all the current information I have for staff to sign up. However as of today there are no open slots available except in Indiana. Several areas have developed wait lists. In some areas I have been able to provide a wait list and/or number of slots needed but many require you to get on the wait list as an individual.
I am recommending anyone who has not signed up to receive their first dose to sign up for the waitlist in your area if there is one. The links provided will guide you to where you need to go and instruct you on what to do to get on the waitlist if available.
For everyone, I will be checking all sites daily and I again encourage you to do the same. When they open slots staff will need to act quickly to get one due to the competition with those 70 and older and teachers also being able to sign up. If I find any openings I will notify you as soon as I find them. However, do not wait on me to sign up if you find an opening.
I am continuing to watch for additional opportunities as well and will update you as applicable. If you would happen to find out about new opportunities please let me know immediately. I have found some local resources such as newspaper or television may provide more information on the local level that you may see/hear and I may not.
I cannot emphasize enough that if you are contacted to sign up to please do so as soon as possible. At this point you should receive information from me, your supervisor, or the entity you sign up with to get on a waitlist. If you are not sure if you are being contacted by a legitimate source please feel free to reach out to me. Due to potential scams I want staff to use caution. Remember there is NO CHARGE for the vaccine. If you do have insurance they may bill your insurance an administration fee, but if you don’t have insurance there is NO COST to you at all.
Please know my #1 priority is to provide opportunity for every staff person to get vaccinated as quickly as we can. However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have or if you find any other potential resources to share with me.
On a side note: DO NOT lower your guard just because you have been vaccinated. Please continue to follow all the CDC guidelines for wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet apart, washing your hands for at least 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer and sanitizing high touch areas often.
Thanks to all of you who have already signed up and/or received the vaccine. We will continue to do all we can to make sure everyone has the same opportunity.
Stay safe and healthy.
