Volunteers of America welcomes new Board of Directors Chairperson Carl Williams
Volunteers of America is pleased to introduce Carl Williams, a longtime volunteer and supporter, as the organization’s newly elected Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
“I am so excited to be taking over the helm as Board Chair for Volunteers of America,” Carl said. “We have so many exciting opportunities before us—an opportunity to engage our mission in a new way with so many changes taking place in the markets that we serve. I’m excited, I’m energized, and I’m ready to get to work.”
Carl is the Director of Client Success at PSST Seamless Data Solutions, where he leads a team as that provides essential software and data solutions to school districts across the country. Carl first connected with Volunteers of America in 2007 as a volunteer at our Louisville Family Housing Services before becoming a generous member of our Positive Change Society and a member of our Board of Directors in 2012.
Carl, who is also an instructor at Bellarmine University’s Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education, has continuously involved Bellarmine students in our mission by organizing tours and service learning projects at our Louisville Family Housing Services facility.
Volunteers of America’s mission to create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service deeply resonates with Carl’s belief in creating positive social change.
“It is our responsibility to holistically care for and to support those in need,” Carl said. “This is the beauty of Volunteers of America’s services—the provision of wraparound services and a full continuum of support for the whole person.”
He encourages all members of the community to be a part of the positive change initiated by Volunteers of America. “Social justice is about action and taking steps toward positive change,” he said. “What steps can you take to initiate this change?”
