On Tuesday, September 10, CBS National News aired a story about our Freedom House Program, and Crystal Vanover’s journey from heroin addiction to recovery. The story is one of a three-part series that aired September 9 - 11, featuring how heroin addiction is impacting the lives of Americans. Volunteers of America’s client, Crystal Vanover, and President and CEO, Jennifer Hancock, sat down with reporter Kenneth Craig of CBS National News in August. They shared how Volunteers of America has made a difference in Crystal and her newborn baby, Azaryah’s, lives, and how our Freedom House program is providing a critical, life-saving service to pregnant women with addiction.
