Donor Spotlight: Indian Professional Council

Indian Professional Council members and their families volunteering together at Louisville Family Housing Services

Since 2012, Volunteers of America Mid-States has been honored as the Indian Professional Council's annual Golf Classic's charity of choice. Volunteers of America first connected with the Indian Professional Council (IPC) in 2009 and the council's commitment to our mission has continued to grow beyond the Golf Classic to include volunteer activities and fundraising projects.

Surekha Kulkarini, longtime supporter and recipient of our 2016 Volunteer of the Year award, lead the IPC to name Volunteers of America as the Golf Classic's community partner. Surekha also engaged the council in a volunteer project during the first Mayor's Week of Service in 2012, and they have continued to volunteer with us each year since.

IPC further demonstrated their passion for helping the families we serve by donating computers to the Teen Learning Lab at our Louisville Family Housing Services. The council also hosted an "Indian Day" with food and activities to share Indian culture with the families staying with us at Louisville Family Housing Services.

"The Indian Professional Council looks forward to hosting the Golf Classic each year and is proud to continue supporting Volunteers of America as our charity of choice," said LS Srinivasan, Volunteers of America board member and IPC member.
