Donor Spotlight: PuroClean's continued support helps make seventh annual Celebrity Golf Scramble a success

Volunteers of America hosted its annual Celebrity Golf Tournament in Nashville on June 5-6, 2016. The signature fundraising event for our Developmental Disabilities Services in Tennessee featured guest speaker Johnny Majors, former University of Tennessee football coach, as well as other local celebrity guests.

Now in its seventh year, the tournament has been more successful each year because of the support of our generous sponsors, like PuroClean. PuroClean first became involved with the tournament three years ago and has grown their support each year to become one of the event's major sponsors.

"PuroClean has been honored to be able to be a part of such a worthy cause in our community," said PuroClean President TJ Burk. "It has truly been a blessing to see the love and passion that each and every Volunteers of America staff member has for the mission of the organization. It is this sincerity and passion that inspires us to want to do all we can for Volunteers of America."

On Sunday, June 5, the opening reception at the Holiday Inn Nashville Airport Hotel kicked off the festivities, including a celebrity autograph session and "Dinner of Champions" with silent and live auctions and entertainment provided by Brent Sibley & Friends. Keynote speaker Johnny Majors, acclaimed former University of Tennessee football coach, shared that he adopted his children from Volunteers of America in Alabama.

On Monday morning, June 6, the tournament teed off at the Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Presenting sponsors of this year's tournament included Nissan and Holiday Inn Nashville Airport Hotel. Many businesses were among our other generous sponsors. Through the generosity of our committed sponsors, participants, volunteers and celebrity guests, this year's tournament raised $120,000 to support our Developmental Disabilities Services programs, allowing us to continue to provide the highest quality care to the individuals we serve.
