Volunteers of America Mid-States celebrates expansion of HIV outreach, testing and prevention services

Volunteers of America Mid-states team at the 2014 Louisville AIDS Walk and “Paws for a Cause” Pet Walk

Volunteers of America Mid-States is pleased to announce the expansion of its HIV outreach and prevention services in Metro Louisville through a federal grant award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Scheduled to begin in January 2016, this five-year, $2.2 million award will allow Volunteers of America to dramatically increase its HIV outreach and prevention efforts, more than doubling the impact of our S.T.O.P. program (Stop the Spread of HIV through Outreach and Prevention), our existing HIV outreach, testing and prevention program. Click here to learn more about S.T.O.P. and other services provided by Volunteers of America.

Please join us for the 2015 Louisville AIDS Walk on Sunday, September 20 at the Belvedere. Volunteers of America is proud to join our community and promote awareness of HIV/AIDS as well as the importance of getting tested. This annual event, hosted by the Kentuckiana AIDS Alliance, raises funds and awareness for HIV providers in the metropolitan area, including Volunteers of America.  Invite your family, friends and pets to join us for this year’s walk! Registration opens at 1 p.m. and the walk starts at 3 p.m. For more information, please visit http://www.kyaids.org/walk.
