Donor Spotlight: Kosair Charities

Our region's philanthropy leader for kids, Kosair Charities has been a committed supporter of Volunteers of America and the children we serve for many years. This year, Kosair Charities was a key partner at our annual WLKY Hope for the Holidays party on December 21. The party was a celebration of the season for the children and families living with us, complete with holiday music, dinner and desserts, story time and even a visit from Santa. During the party, Kosair Charities surprised Volunteers of America guests, board of directors and staff with a $25,000 challenge gift! WLKY shared this surprise challenge live on air during their evening broadcast, encouraging our compassionate community to contribute to Hope for the Holidays so Kosair Charities could match every dollar up to $25,000! Kosair Charities' $25,000 challenge gift inspired our community to more than double the gift!
The impact is real for children like Liliana. Liliana (pictured to the right and featured in the story above) is one of 115 babies born healthy and drug-free because her mother is receiving our life-saving, clinical services. Liliana and her mother celebrated their first holiday season as a family and experienced the compassionate support of our community and especially Kosair Charities.
We are inspired and uplifted by the support Kosair Charities and our community have demonstrated for the children we serve as they overcome a difficult time in their loves while their parents transition from homelessness to housing and establish stable and sober lives. Thank you to Kosair for everything you do for children in our region. We are proud to include the children we serve at Volunteers of America in Kosair's circle of support.
