VOA Today: Anna Giangrande's Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe
Hello everyone! I have the recipe I used for making "hanatizer" (hand sanitizer) attached for review but I am going to also give information on all the adjustments we had to make due to lack of availability.
I will also put in the information for the homemade disinfectant wipes I will be making for our houses.
Hanatizer: 2 1/2 gallons
aloe jell is not around so we used aloe juice. It can be found in gallon jugs at Walmart in the health and beauty area for $7 a gallon.
3 large bottles of alcohol or everclear (booze).
3 - 4 tbsp. xanthan gum
In a giant bowl/container pour in Aloe juice. stir in xanthan gum (take your time shaking it out into the aloe as to reduce the clumping (do not fret over clumps that do appear). Pour i n alcohol. cover and let set overnight (otherwise its sticky). Next day use beaters to mix in the now over saturated, giant clumps of xanthan gum floating at the top.
funnel into containers.
roll of "shop" towels (thick paper towels)
4 cups water
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 tbsp antibacterial dish soap
1 plastic container (we are using a .97 clear shoe container from Walmart)
Cut the paper towel roll in half and remove the cardboard middle. (this gives you more towels place the cut roll pieces side by side in plastic shoe box.
Mix water, vinegar, and soap together slowly pour mixture over the towels to get it all coated well and absorbed through.
Pop a lid on it and pull off sheets as needed. If you have smaller containers (plastic round coffee container) and use only half a roll of towels, cut the liquid amounts in half as well.
