Volunteers of America breaks ground on new facility

A center committed to driving down the number of babies born addicted to drugs is doubling in size.

Volunteers of America broke ground on a multi-million dollar facility that will expand and renovate the old Planned Parenthood headquarters on 2nd street.

It'll serve as a bigger recovery facility for pregnant and parenting women dealing with addiction.

Right now the current Freedom House deals with a lengthy wait list.

VOA President Jennifer Hancock thanked supporters for helping them raise more than half of their $6 million goal and reminded people that addiction doesn't discriminate by neighborhood.
