Stephanie Hoskins joins Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors

On Friday, Sept. 5, Clay County resident and local nonprofit leader Stephanie Hoskins was sworn in to the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors.

Hoskins is the Senior Director of Rural Addiction Recovery Services at Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA). VOA is a human-services organization that works to empower and uplift the communities they serve. VOA’s recovery programs provide support and treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and work to reunite families broken apart by addiction.

Hoskins is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S), and Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS). With over 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, focusing on substance use disorder and mental health services, she uses her expertise to lead the organization’s recovery efforts across the state.

As a new member of the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Hoskins will work to examine and certify all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of alcohol and drug counseling.

In collaboration with other board members, Hoskins will advocate for changes in law to assure fairness and equality for all who are in need of alcohol and drug treatment.
